That pesky old transmission is finally out and on its way to the rebuild shop. Having now seen the process I am quite confident that I can reinstall it once it gets back to me; if true, that will save me tons of $$ on the final bill. I like saving money, especially when in the throes of spending money I didn’t really have to begin with.
So although I’m still in “wait” mode, there’s a ray of sunshine piercing the darkness of stagnation. In the meantime I will use the opportunity to get down to the deepest, darkest parts of the bilge and get that all spotless in anticipation of a revitalized gearbox coming back my way in a week or two.
Stay tuned, and thank you to everyone for the continued positivity and messages of encouragement.

Bummer on the trans. At least it is still serviceable. Guessing it is not the original based on the age of the cutter. Good luck John!

Yeah, she was repowered with a Universal diesel a while back. The tranny should be good as gold in a week or so. Thanks for all of your kind words. They always make me smile. 🙂
